Set amidst 6 acres of natural forest, The Hermitage is a property which is difficult to Match. Magically poised on the edge of the Victoria Reservoir, the property is populated by 41 species of Birds including the near extinct Grey Parrot, numerous monkey’s, wild boar, deer and a variety of lizards.
Located along the edge of the Victoria Reservoir with a water frontage of more than one
kilo meter and spread over an area of Six acres of Virgin forest, The Hermitage is positioned 2103 feet
above sea level with an average temperature of 25 C. The site of an ancient Hermitage, the monks used to
grow many medicinal Herbs and plants which are still used in the kitchen to turn out healthy dishes for the
body and soul or make massage oils according to centuries old recipes. The building is not air conditioned
and open to the environment around and the healthy mountain air blowing from the Hunnasgiriya Range.

Set amidst six acres of natural forest, The Hermitage is a secluded retreat on the edge of the Victoria Reservoir. The surrounding landscape is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including 41 recorded bird species, monkeys, wild boar, deer and a variety of lizards.
With more than a kilometre of water frontage, the property sits approximately 2,103 feet above sea level. Designed to remain open to the natural environment, the villa welcomes the mountain air from the Hunnasgiriya Range. Its setting and heritage invite guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy a quieter rhythm of travel.
The site has a history as a place of meditation and herbal growing. Today, herbs and plants continue to inspire the kitchen and traditional massage oils, bringing a sense of wellbeing to the experience.
